As the summer heats up, especially this year, we want to remind all of the motorcyclists to wear your protective gear. Staying cool is no excuse for staying safe. Many states require riders to wear DOT-compliant helmets and eye protection. Wear boots that cover the ankles, long pants and a riding jacket. Built-in body armor is also a good addition.
Visit the Motorcycle Safety Foundation website and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website for more information.
We hope that you have a fun and safe Fourth of July weekend.

June 21st is the annual Ride to Work Day to advocate and support the use of motorcycles and scooters.
Magazine editor Fred Rau was first inspired by the “Work to Ride — Ride to Work” campaign by Aero Design and Manufacturing Company, a motorcycle clothing manufacturer and so he proposed the event in Road Rider magazine (now Motorcycle Consumer News) in May 1992. The first event was held on July 22, 1992.
You can find out more information about Ride to Work Day at the organization’s Web site. You can also find marketing materials to help increase awareness in your area.
